ICA’s 2020 FIRST STEP!

The very beginning of our most challenging season:

Igniting our engines in the Croatian Istria Peninsula

The Team will also Launch a New Cycling event – The Istria300

Tel Aviv. November 19, 2019

Israel Cycling Academy will officially open its preparations for the most challenging season it has ever faced – 2020 – with a unique three days camp on the shores of the Croatian Istria Peninsula.

The first get together of the 2020 Team including all its new riders will happen in the city of Poreč, December 3, where the Team will also help Launch a new and exciting amateur cycling event called the ISTRIA300 “Ride Your Limits”: Three courses with up to 300 Km that 1000 cyclists from around the world will ride next October on the breathtaking roads of the Istrian Peninsula.

We are now waiting for the formal UCI approval to race next year in the WORLD TOUR and the
special technical camp we will hold in Istria will present the first opportunity for the Team’s Staff and riders to meet as well as the first time the riders will test the new equipment for the 2020 season.

The entire team will then fly to Israel for a full training camp in the holy land and a series of events to be disclosed soon.

The organizers of Istria300, Julius Rupitsch and Vladimir Miholjević, expressed their enthusiasm that the Team ICA will help Launch the great new cycling challenge open to cyclists from all over the world.

“There are many reasons why Israel Cycling Academy is the perfect partner for Istria300:

In October 10th, 2020 we will be welcoming 1,000 highly motivated and ambitious cyclists from all over the world to Istria. Team ICA is known for setting up such a broad international appeal. We could not have found a better partner to promote this Event”.

ICA’s pro manager Kjell Carlstrom: “This is an excellent opportunity to start a collaboration with the organizers of the Istria300 event. We’ll be able to ride on some of the roads scheduled for the event and explore new territories for us. The timing and location fit very well into our logistics plan of doing a technical camp with some meetings in Croatia before we fly to Israel“.

The Team will stay in the in “Valamar Diament” Hotel in Poreč.

About the Istria300 – Ride your Limits!

On October 10, 2020, the Croatian coastal town of Poreč will become the Mecca of international cycling. Under the motto “Ride your Limits”, the Adriatic peninsula Istria offers the optimum conditions for amateur cyclists for whom it can be “a bit more”! Those who have always wanted to experience the picturesque backcountry and coastal roads of Istria on closed roads will get their money’s worth here.

With the Istria300, the recreational athletes only decide on the course which distance they want to cover eventually. With 300 km, 235 km, and 155 km, there are three-course variants. If, for example, an athlete notices on the course that the legs are still fresh, he can decide on the more extended option. This is special in the cycling racing scene and offers a challenge to almost every level. Besides, the epic bike routes along the most beautiful roads of Istria with spectacular views guarantee a cycling experience of a lifetime.
