Israel Cycling Academy will be racing on

Factor Bikes in the next three seasons.

Factor : “The fastest road bikes ever“

Tel Aviv – November 28, 2019

Israel Cycling Academy will perform on the “fastest road bikes ever” from the British bike manufacturer FACTOR, which finds ICA and Factor “the perfect match”. ICA and Factor have signed a one-year partnership aiming for success in the pro-peloton.

“ICA HAS A GREAT BIKE”

Sylvan Adams, ICA’s co-owner, is excited for the new collaboration with Factor. “It is fantastic to see our riders racing to new heights on their superior bikes in the World Tour next year.” (Pending UCI final approval).

Academy will ride on Factor O2 VAM bikes (for climbing), and for the flat stages, ICA will race with the Factor ONE bike, that the British manufacturer describes as the “fastest aero road bike ever tested in wind tunnels and on the road.”

Jost Zevnik, Chief Operating Manager of Israel Cycling Academy, is convinced that the team will be riding on the best equipment. “ICA-riders have a great bike for 2020.”

“LET’S COMPETE TOGETHER ON THE WORLD STAGE”

Factor Bikes owner Rob Gitelis is stoked about the partnership with the Academy as well. “It is exciting as we make our return with a great partner in Israel Cycling Academy to the WorldTour. ICA and Factor share ambitions to compete on the world stage ICA has been on an incredible journey, and we are excited to be part of it.”

INTERNATIONAL APPEAL

The number of nationalities within Israel Cycling Academy is appealing for Factor Bikes. As ICA is a team open to all and followed passionately by hundreds of thousands of fans all over the world, it perfectly suits global brands like Factor.

Gitelis: “The fact that ICA has many nationalities represented within the team makes it a perfect fit.”

“WE WILL KEEP IMPROVING”

According to Factor, the technical partnership is exciting too. Factor’s engineers will work closely with Israel Cycling Academy to drive forward new product developments and designs.

Kjell Carlström, pro manager at ICA, finds the Academy and Factor also on technical terrain a brilliant match. “We also share the same ideas regarding developing the bikes further.”

Carlström adds: “Factor has convinced in the past of being a great bike, and with the dedication of the company and Gitelis to continue to improve, we believe that the performance will be up there with the best. Therefore, I am excited with the collaboration we will have.”

The co-owner of ICA, Adams, concluded: “With the best equipment, we will reach for the top. Yalla, Factor, welcome to Israel Cycling Academy.”

A HEARTFELT FAREWELL TO DE ROSA

The Welcome for Factor is also a farewell to the De Rosa Bikes.

In the past two years, the team has raced on the De Rosa bikes and enjoyed great success. But much beyond that. The ICA family has developed a unique and warm relationship with the De Rosa family and especially Cristiano De Rosa and his father Hugo De Rosa, the legendary founder.

“I wish to express our deep appreciation for De Rosa,” stated ICA co-owner Sylvan Adams. “Cristiano, you are a gentleman. Thank you for your confidence and support. Good luck and ciao”!

THE FACTOR ICA BIKES & ITS COMPONENTS

Israel Cycling Academy will ride on Factor’s O2 VAM Disc and ONE disc.

The O2 VAM is an ultralight bike designed for climbing and within the UCI limit of 6.8 kilograms, while the ONE is designed for aerodynamic efficiency and maximum frame stiffness. Just what the ICA riders need, to perform on the highest level of professional cycling in 2020.

ICA will also be racing with Black Inc. components, including the full range of wheels, seat posts, integrated bar stems, computer mounts, and bar tape. The bikes will be equipped with Ceramic Speed bearings and oversized pulley wheel systems, Maxxis Tyres, and Selle Italia saddles. “SwissStop” will provide rotors and brake pads.  Everything to make Academy’s team as fast as possible in the races.

All the bikes have been developed with a unique ICA paint scheme along with refreshed graphics for 2020.

Zevnik is also happy with Black Inc. joining the team: “Their wheels are very aero and lightweight. The bikes will be even faster by using Black Inc + Ceramic Speed hubs. ICA does not have to worry about aerodynamics anymore.”
