Israel Start-Up Nation lines up with a strong team for the challenging Tour de Romandie stage race this week. After some impressive performances in recent races, the ISN riders are eager to continue the good show of strength in the Swiss WorldTour race.

The opening stage is a 4 km prologue in Oron. It starts out flat before the last 800 meters kick up towards the line at around 8%. Three undulating stages then follow before the mountaintop-finish on Thyon 2000 in stage 4. This grueling climb is over 20 km long and has a staggering average gradient of 7.6%, with multiple parts of double-digit gradients.

However, nothing is settled until the riders reach the finishing line of the final stage the day after. This 16 km long individual time trial includes several short ascents, making it extra hard for the riders. It won’t be a surprise to see another close fight for the overall victory. In four out of the last five editions, the time difference between the winner and the runner-up has been just around 20 seconds. Taking place amidst stunning scenery, Tour de Romandie will be another great race to follow for the fans.

To get in the mix and fight for both stage wins and overall success, Israel Start-Up Nation brings the following riders to the race: Patrick Bevin, Guillaume Boivin, Alex Dowsett, Reto Hollenstein, Mads Würtz Schmidt, Michael Woods and Chris Froome, who has won this race twice in the past.

Sports director, Rik Verbrugghe: “The goal for us here is a stage win and if we can get a good spot in the GC as well, it would be perfect. We have some strong time trialists lining up so we aim for a good result in the prologue already. Woods has shown that he’s in really good shape at the moment and he will be our man for the general classification.”
