Ladies and gentlemen:

The ACADEMY is on the MOVE!

Great start for our ISRAELI CYCLING ACADEMY UNDER 23 team in Italy 🇮🇹.

The spirit and DNA 🧬 of the team reflects the philosophy of their sports manager and director, our Australian ex-rider Zak Dempster.

Zak demands full commitment, zero fear and 100 💯 racing aggressiveness – and that’s exactly what he got yesterday from his ICA youngsters in the 172 km (10x climbing circuit) race called TROFEO PIVA.

A breakaway with young Aussie Alastair MacKellar lasted almost all day long. Alastair continued solo when his breakaway partner succumbed, securing the King of the Mountain award.

Later, it was Israeli Edo Goldstein (the younger brother of ISN’s Omer Goldstein) who initiated an attack on the last lap, creating a selective group. “I felt pretty great considering it’s my first race of the season,” said Edo later. Our best finisher was Mason Hollyman (11th) but Zak was full of praise for his “kids.”

“It’s the highest U23 level and they showed they belong,” he said.

Later today the team will tackle the one-day Giro de Belvedere.
