With #VisitIsrael and Hammerhead, Israel Start-Up Nation shares the favorite loops of all Israeli riders in our two teams.
In volume 10 we feature Omer Lahav. “This one a loop to the most-contested KOM in Israel”, he says, “Nes Harin.”
“You will get a good warm-up on flat roads,” Lahav says about his favorite loop in Israel. “You will need that to get a chance of getting a good result on Nes Harim, the most famous climb in my country. Try to get yourself in the top-10 in the ranking. It won’t be easy at all.”
At the top of the climb, Lahav recommends stopping at Bar Bahar. “A great place for coffee and cake,” he says. “From there you can descend to Jerusalem and then climb back up to Yad Kennedy, a climb less steep than Nes Harim, but longer, and at least as challenging.”
“My route then brings you to Tzuba through the hills. There won’t be any long climbs anymore, but there are still plenty of small hills. From there, you descend on one of the best roads in Israel, bringing you back to where you started. Don’t forget to enjoy the amazing views throughout the day.”
