We had a fairly content sports director after the first stage of the Tour de Hongrie. “Fourth is a decent result for Barbier,” DS Dirk Demol said. “And I am happy seeing Ben Moshe and Einhorn racing so attentively today.”
Sports director Dirk Demol saw a group of riders working well together. “In the beginning of the race, Ben Moshe and Jones controlled the bunch very well. The ideal breakaway for us went up the road, which was mostly the work of the two youngsters.”
Demol also gave compliments to Tom Van Asbroeck, who led the team during the race as road captain, and to Itamar Einhorn, who was very visible in the final.
“That’s quite a performance,” Demol said about Einhorn. “He did not do any races this season so far, but Einhorn showed today that he did not lose the feel for riding finals.”
Rudy Barbier delivered ISN a fourth place in the final sprint, especially considering Barbier had a relatively long rest after his Classics campaign and was doing his first mass sprint in weeks.
“Fourth is a decent result,” Demol concluded. “We have a very diverse team here, with a lot of experience with Hermans and Van Asbroeck on one hand, and then youngsters like Ben Moshe and Jones on the other hand. From here we will aim for even better results in the following stages.”
