Israel Start-Up Nation prepares second virtual ride
Over 15 ISN/ICA Pro Riders joining, Dan Martin leads
Thousands of masks will be shipped to medical teams fighting Corona
Tel Aviv. March 27.
Team Israel Start-Up Nation will lead a Zwift Virtual online ride open to fans from all over the world – to supply thousands of N95 and KN95 masks to medical teams fighting the Corona Virus.
The “Team ISN Medical Aid Ride” will take place on Sunday, March 29, at 3 PM CET, led by Irish star rider Dan Martin, former world hour champion Alex Dowsett, Israeli Guy Niv, German legend Andre Greipel and many other riders from the Israeli WorldTour team.
Team co-owner, Canadian entrepreneur, Medical Doctor and philanthropist Dr. Kevin Ham has pledged to ship and donate the protective gear to hospitals in need through a series of rides initiated by the team.
Every participant equals one donated mask
Dr. Ham, the owner of “Reinvent.com” and Canadian shipping company “Chit Chats”, has declared that he will ship and donate the masks in the name of every person that will join the team in those rides: “We started the first ride to send a ‘stay at home’ message to all, but now we want to move further and highlight the need to help the medical ‘troops’ on the Corona war front line.
I pledge that for everyone that will take part in those rides – we will deliver masks to hospitals,” said Dr. Ham.
He revealed that his shipping company already acquired the first shipment of masks from China and it has arrived and ready to distribute.
“This donation can make a huge difference”
In the first team virtual team “stay at home” ride last week, almost 1000 fans from all over the world joined the team ride on trainers through the Zwift virtual platform. The team hopes to have even more fans joining Sunday to ensure that as many masks as possible are delivered: “The situation we find ourselves in is truly unprecedented, but it has also lead to shows of the incredible human spirit “ Said ISN’s Irish rider Dan Martin who will lead the ride Sunday.
“By staying at home and training indoors we are making our small contribution to this fight, and with this incredible gesture by Kevin, we can make it even more meaningful. I hope to see as many of you join us on Sunday so that this donation can make a huge difference to the frontline staff risking their lives to save others.”
And Martin added: “My two sisters in law are working frontline to beat this virus in the UK and they appreciate every gesture of support. I want to say thank you to Kevin for giving us this opportunity to play a small part in this fight.”
